Comedian Chantal Carrere

Comic Powerhouse on the Rise

After starting her entertainment career as a San Francisco radio DJ, Chantal Carrere took the stage and was an immediate sensation. She began performing at the hottest local comedy clubs, but it didn’t stop there. She then went on to earn an unbreakable “perfect score” in the Funniest Female competition in Los Angeles and the title of “Wildcard Finalist” in Laugh Across America in Las Vegas.

The SF Bay Times declared“her timing is flawless.” She is “hands down, one of the funniest female comics out there” according to the East Bay Express. Her comedy has been described as littered with double entendres, shot gun punches and as a fun flirty autobiographical romp. She has often been described as a star on the rise. Staying true to expectations, she went on to appear on national network television on ABC.

Most recently she was named one of “The Funniest Lesbian comedians in America” by Curve magazine. She captured 6th place in the “TopTen Funniest Lesbians” along side notable performers such as Ellen DeGeneres. She was also recently declared 11th in the “One Hundred Women We Love” issue of Go Magazine. Chantal has also been chosen to perform in the 2009 Boston Comedy Festival.

Chantal relocated from her native California to Boston where she can be seen performing in clubs and colleges through the US. She also tours nationally with both “Five Funny Females” and “Lesbians of Laughter” shows and can be seen on Here TV’s “Hot Gay Comics.”

Singer/Songwriter D.Cruise

11AFTER....Akron, Ohio’s very own “Bad Girls of Rock n' Roll” are five years strong and got it going on! With three independently produced CDs and two videos under their studded belts, this five-female-force of dynamic talents are well known for their tightly woven and loosely flowing sound throughout their diverse array of original music recordings and popular live shows. D Cruise, lead singer/s...ongwriter, is the driving force behind this amazing act and draws on her unique life experiences for both her lyrics and her incredible performing presence. Her raspy growl, radio-ready tunes and wild stage antics combine for the ultimate ‘rock chick’ experience.  11After has extensively toured across the U.S. and and on the east coast in particular. They have seasoned their sound locally at Cleveland’s House of Blues, for years at Akron’s biggest summer party ‘Live at Lock 3’ and many other venues, dive bars and clubs too numerous to mention. They often donate part of their proceeds to local non-profits and have always supported the Akron/Cleveland music and art scene. Their well-received CD “Because I Said So” was a local smash hit and the girls are currently fine-tuning new material for their highly anticipated new release.

Join us for Season 2 with our New Co-Hosts Chantal Carrere and D. Cruise.

We are BACK!!!! Bigger and Better than ever before. Chantal will be adding her own segment to the cafe filled with comedy and characters. It is always best to expect the unexpected when it comes to Chantal, and that is one of the things I love about her most.
D. Cruise will be joining me in reviewing new albums and interviewing fellow musicians. How cool it will be to get the uncensored off the cuff commentary from a true pro.

Now that you know a little about the Co-Hosts lets introduce you to the cast.

Lorraine Howell is not your average housewife.

She's the "Happy Lesbian Housewife."

She is also the amazingly gifted writer and brains behind the hit blog of the same name.

You may know her as a writer for Gay E magazine and a soon to be published author. She will tell us more about her projects in our getting to know the cast interviews.  We wanted to share Lorraine's talents with the world and have created a spot just for her. Check out her new blog The Cooter Cafe Gayzette. As our new head writer she is sure to tickle your funny bone as she adds hilarity to everyday observations.

God-des & She join the Cooter Cafe with their own segment.

A hip-hop/pop/soul duo bred in the Midwest, God-Des & She now play to packed venues all over the world from New York to Sweden. God-Des & She's energy and talent have caught the attention of industry and listeners alike, ever since they appeared on Showtime’s hit series “The L Word.” The pair haven’t had a moment’s rest since selling more than 40,000 albums, holding down the No. 1 spot on MTV LOGO with their song “Love You Better,” performing with SIA and hip hop icons Salt N' Pepa and signing autograph after autograph for eager fans. They have just released the first single off their fourth full length album, appropriately titled "You Know My Name". Listen here: http://god-desandshe.bandcamp.com/
